Exports Soar to China

New Zealand’s food and beverage sector is experiencing a boom with demand from Asia, particularly China, New Zealand’s second largest export destination country, buying $2.9 billion worth of products. The Investor’s Guide to the New Zealand Food & Beverage Industry 2013 showed that Asia accounted for more than 40 per cent of food and beverage export value in 2011. “The New Zealand primary sector is in the middle of a fundamental transition from feeding Westerners to feeding the Asia- Pacific region,” Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce said.
