Twilight Star Dons Dul’s Eco-Tux for Oscars

New Zealand was once again represented on the red carpet at the Oscars with Twilight star Kellan Lutz wearing the Academy Awards first sustainable tuxedo created by Jomnarn Dul, 23, lead designer at iconic menswear brand H Brothers.

Dul, a New Zealand-born Cambodian, was inspired by Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am’s style when working on the design, which is made from recycled content. Dul worked with American fashion designer and artist Jeff Garner, who acted as her mentor, guiding her through the making of Lutz’s tux.

“I’m honoured to have been asked to participate in this milestone year of Red Carpet Green Dress, and I look forward to wearing Dul’s winning design for H Brothers to the Oscars,” Lutz said ahead of the 2 March presentation.

Dul completed a degree in fashion design at the Auckland University of Technology.

Red Carpet Green Dress is an international dress design contest started by Suzy Amis Cameron. Her husband is Avatar director James Cameron.
