Plans Afoot for Animated Comedy Set in NASA Office

Academy Award winner Wellingtonian Bret McKenzie, 37, is creating an animated workplace comedy for Fox set in the world of NASA, according to TV Guide.

McKenzie will executive produce the untitled show he came up with and will work alongside King of the Hill producers Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May with all three writing the project for 20th Century Fox TV.

The workplace comedy is centred around a group of employees wasting away time at an “almost-obsolete” NASA space centre in Boulder, Colorado.

Although McKenzie hasn’t said whether he would play a part in the show, TV Guide reported that it is a possibility.

McKenzie won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media for The Muppets movie in 2011.

He also won a Grammy with Jemaine Clement, the other half of The Flight of the Conchords, in 2007.
