He is ploughing upwards of $50 million of his own money into building a studio empire here … “I could go to Hollywood and I wouldn’t have to build any of this,” says Jackson. “I value being a New Zealander who is able to make films in his own country. So we’ve had to spend our own money to increase the infrastructure.”
