Jeweller Jessica McCormack Packs for Waiheke

Christchurch-born London-based jewellery designer Jessica McCormack talks with Harper’s Bazaar UK for the magazine’s monthly “Travel Notebook” column about what she packs and her favourite places to stay when she heads homeward to Waiheke Island.

“Rent one of the many amazing houses from Airbnb,” McCormack suggests, “or stay at the Boatshed for a luxurious take on the Kiwi beach house.”

McCormack says three words that describe Waiheke Island are: “breathtaking, captivating, real.”

She says: “Waiheke has secret coves, beautiful beaches, and heavenly views from all sides.”

“A hike around the island and its bays is never the same twice.”

McCormack is the daughter of an antiques dealer. She began her career with a work experience placement in the Victorian jewellery department at Sotheby’s. She has created bespoke pieces for the likes of Madonna and Carine Roitfeld.
