Jeweller Jessica McCormack Adopts Consignment Policies

In recent years the jewellery industry has experienced a surge of growth, with an explosion of new designers, as well as outlets offering their creations. Some designers have chosen to differentiate themselves by forgoing wholesale altogether like New Zealand-born Jessica McCormack.

Based in London, McCormack, 35, withdrew her wholesale accounts in 2012 and opened an exclusive Mayfair boutique the following year in an effort to create an intimate customer experience: “I need that personal connection.”

“It was a big decision, but it was 100 per cent the right decision for us,” she said. Bespoke commissions now make up half her business and “I’m there in the house: It’s true, personal service.”

McCormack has designed pieces for Rihanna, Madonna and Carine Roitfeld. McCormack’s Mayfair boutique is a favourite of skincare legend Terry de Gunzburg.
