Narnia comes to life

Excitement is growing for the December release of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Filmed in New Zealand and directed by New Zealander Andrew Adamson (noted for his Shrek successes), this first installment in the Chronicles of Narnia follows the journey of four siblings through an enchanted wardrobe into a magical wonderland of mythical creatures, fantastic adventures, Aslan the Lion and the White Witch. With a reported budget of $100m (US), the cast features Tilda Swinton and Liam Neeson as well as a number of New Zealand actors including Elizabeth Hawthorne and Shane Rangi. Adamson was pleased to have the opportunity to bring C.S. Lewis’s much loved story to the big screen. “It’s a classic already and I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to film what is such a special story to millions of people. I really want the movie to be as lasting as the book.”
