Tintin draws closer

Three new images from the Peter Jackson-produced and Steven Spielberg-directed 3-D motion capture film The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, have just been released online. Secret of the Unicorn is the first in the series of films based on the iconic character created by the Belgian artist Georges Rémi, better known to the world by his pen name Herge. The above image depicts a massive desert landscape where Tintin (Jamie Bell) and his best friend and fellow adventurer Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) set off to discover a hidden treasure of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. Jackson, whose company Weta Digital is providing the computer animation, intends to direct a sequel. Spielberg and Jackson also hope to co-direct a third film. The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn comes to US theatres December 23, 2011.
