Petra Leary Captures Views of Daily Geometry

“Petra Leary sees the world from above. She skates around cities, focusing her lens on becoming the world’s top aerial photographer. The 28-year-old New Zealander is the subject of a newly released Loading Docs short documentary, Bird’s Eye!The Guardian reports. The newspaper features Leary’s work, entitled ‘Daily Geometry’, in its art and design gallery.

“She has spent the past few years taking award-winning aerial photographs of basketball courts. ‘I love just how simple they are, they are all the same formula, but they’re all different too,’ Leary says. ‘Some are wooden, some are concrete, there’s something that just catches my eye. I just love them.’”

The ‘Daily Geometry’ collection highlights the shapes and symmetry of basketball courts in New Zealand.
