“In a nutshell,” this is why American Jennifer Thomas went to New Zealand: “I’m driving along some winding country road and a flock of sheep shamble up a hill and cover the road, blocking me in. A kindly farmer dude then shepherds them across, we share a wave and I head off to a small, cosy pub where they serve beer with names like Fuzzy Wicket. New Zealand more than satisfied my longing for tranquility and gorgeous scenery.”
