NZ filmmaker Haydn Butler is the only non-US finalist in an online advertising competition sponsored by Al Gore’s Current TV. Butler’s clip The Bags was selected from more than 300 entries to make the Ecospot challenge’s top 20. The winner is determined by the number of public votes each entry receives online. In 2003, Butler won the Best Film Award and Audience Award at the UpOverDownUnder Antipodean Film Festival in the UK. Voting for the Ecospot competition closes on November 9.
