Lorde Single Breaks into Billboard Top 10

Sixteen-year-old New Zealand singer, Lorde, has had continued success the US, with her single ‘Royals’ currently sitting at 8th place on the Billboard Hot 100 List.

The single has also been sitting atop of the Alternative Songs chart for four weeks – after making history for becoming the first female artist to top the chart in 17 years – is 3rd place on the Hot Rock Songs chart, 8th place on the Digital Songs chart, 12th on the Streaming Songs (2.8 million, up 14%), and jumped from 30th to 17th place on the Radio Songs chart (57 million plays, up 40%).

At the end of August, Lorde had received the Digital Gainer award for the third consecutive week, becoming the first artist to receive the award for three straight weeks since Taylor Swift’s ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ single between Dec 29, 2012 and Jan, 12 2013.

Lorde also included in The Daily Beast’s ‘Picks of Summer’ list, with the news site stating, “Some songs were just plain better (go listen to “Royals” by Lorde right now).” Lorde recently made her US show debate with a sold-out shows at Le Poisson Rouge, New York and the Echoplex, Los Angeles.
