Failepou Peni’s Label Lapou to Unveil New Collection

New Zealand-born designer Failepou Peni’s resort wear label Lapou will showcase new collections at the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival on 17 October.

Lepou specialise in figure flattering resort pieces, luxurious kaftans, swimwear and elegant dresses in prints and flowing fabrics inspired by the ocean and nature’s landscapes.

Lepou was founded by Peni in 2011. She studied fashion at Sydney’s Whitehouse School of Design.

Peni, who designs and produces the range with her daughters, Maisyann and Judy-May, draws her inspiration from the rich tapestry of nature, its shapes, colours and textures.

“For our 2016 summer collection, we are using a rich colour palette of deep sea blues, nudes, corals and opulent raisin, with abstract prints and water paint bases,” Peni said.

Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival director Jacinta Richmond said the Lepou label was attracting a lot of attention from the fashion industry for its beautiful creations and effortless styling.
