Auckland sees in NY
An NZPA photograph of the New Year firework display over Auckland was included in a Guardian gallery of New Year’s Eve celebrations around the world. ONE News reported that traffic in the CBD stopped and crowds looked on as $1, worth of pyrotechnics rained down from the Sky Tower. The ten minute lightshow was twice as long as previous years. A second pyrotechnic display lit up the Waitemata Harbour, when a pair of barges launched 2 shells into the air.
