Architectural Designs

Feminine beaded tops over boy shirts were paired with punky skinny pants adorned with zippers on the New York Fashion Week runway of New Zealand fashion designer Rebecca Taylor as she explored Frank Lloyd Wright and the Lower East Side of the 1980s. “I had been reading that book, Loving Frank, and I wanted everything to feel a little bit more architectural,” New York-based Taylor said. The collection for autumn, Taylor said, was definitely more structured and tailored than her work in the past. “But I also wanted it to be a bit punky, to have a bit of a rock ‘n’ roll attitude,” she said. Rebecca Taylor has featured internationally in publications such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, W, Nylon and Marie Claire.
