New Zealand Stunt Double Falls in Love at Mad Max Fury Road Set

New Zealand stunt double Dayna Grant and Dane Grant have found their soulmate at the set of post-apocalyptic action movie. “The couple that does stunts together, stays together”, writes Andrea Romano for Mashable.

Today the couple is married and have a 14-month-old son.

Dayna doubled for Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa while Dane took over from Tom Hardy’s stunt double fellow New Zealander Jacob Tomuri for rehearsals. He ended up playing a “War Boy” in the film.

“Every time we get to work together is a blast, but none more so than the initial fight rehearsal. In the film, it’s the first time Max meets Furiosa and they fight it out with a sequence that fight choreographer had us training non-stop for weeks,” Dane told The Telegraph.

“Dayna and I had a lot in common with those two characters, meeting for the first time, learning to trust each other under stressful conditions. Pretty much just get on with what you’re supposed to while on a mission through the desert with a bunch of weirdly dressed post-apocalyptic characters everywhere you look,” said Dane.
