Hot Premiere Signing

New Zealander Ryan Nelsen, 34, who led the All Whites at the World Cup in South Africa in 2010, has signed with Tottenham Hotspur. Ryan was released by Blackburn after the club agreed to the termination of his contract. With Spurs just five points off the top of the table, and through to the fifth round of the FA Cup, Christchurch-born Ryan hopes he can win some silverware with the north London outfit. “Medals, trophies are things you strive for. Blackburn got to five semis and never made a final, so it’s very exciting,” Nelsen told 3News. “It feels like you’re going back to the first day of school; everyone will be looking at you and judging you so I better clean my boots and comb my hair.”
