Helen Clark: Good Bloke

“Good bloke” politics is playing well in “reform-fatigued” Australian electorates. The new model is not gender-specific. Prime Minister Helen Clark in New Zealand may like to imply that it is, but she has profited from the same trends as Bracks, Baettie and Bacon. That is, an acute distaste among voters for being treated as subjects in an economic rationalisation experiment.
