Secrets of the Mask

New Zealand stuntwoman and actress Zoë Bell, 34, who recently starred as the mysterious masked tracker in Quentin Tarentino’s Django: Unchained, also appears as the Tall Witch in this year’s release Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, which premiered in Los Angeles on 24 January. So did the camera linger on her just a little bit longer as a sort of wink-wink to fans of the long-time Tarentino collaborator? E-Online asked Bell at the premiere. Or was there more to her story? “There was backstory and there was to be a fight sequence,” Bell said. “There was a little sneaky secret under the mask,” Bell coyly explained when asked if she was ever intended to be unmasked. “Part of my face was missing.” Bell is originally from Waiheke Island.
