New Guernsey Energy Role for New Zealander

Guernsey-based New Zealander Paul Wright, who has lived on the island for the past 17 years, has been hired as finance director of Guernsey Gas, Jersey Gas and Manx Gas and will be involved in the continuing integration of the three entities.

Wright moved to Guernsey in 1997 and spent two years with International Energy Group (IEG) as a management accountant before moving to roles in the finance industry and subsequently the Blue Diamond Group, where he spent 10 years as finance director.

“When I last worked with IEG, the three islands were separate and we are now operating under one company umbrella,” Wright said.

It’s a really exciting time to be joining and a challenge to manage the finances of such a diverse organisation. From supplying natural gas, butane and propane, cylinders for BBQs … it provides something different every day which you wouldn’t necessarily get from the finance industry.”
