New Zealand Urges Japan to Halt Whaling

Representatives of 15 countries have urged Japan, the world’s largest consumer of whale meat, to halt its research whaling. New Zealand and Australia, along with anti-whaling groups and conservationists have been at the forefront of efforts to compel Japan to respect the non-whaling resolutions made by the International Whaling Commission.
