A survey of 102 countries by German-based Transparency International found NZ to be one of the least corrupt states. The annual report claims “to reflect perceived levels of corruption among politicians and public officials.” NZ scored 9.5 out of 10 on the Perceived Corruption Index, with only Finland rating higher on 9.7.
