Lorde – the July Cover Star of Vogue Australia

New Zealand singer Lorde has been photographed for her first Vogue cover for Vogue Australia. The 18-year-old singer shared the gorgeous cover image and an additional shot from the issue with her fans on Instagram on Sunday.

“She is fiercely intelligent, equally talented, and I am very proud of this, her first Vogue Australia cover,” said Edwina McCann, editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia.

In the July issue available from June 15, Lorde describes what it’s like to be catapulted to fame at such a young age.

The Kiwi star loves living in New Zealand for a dose of normality.

“It is easier to have a normal life back home. I think everyone knows that they’re going to see me around, that I’m going to be buying gum from a gas station or whatever,” she said.

Lorde, a fan of high-fashion brands like Acne and Céline, told Vogue Australia her fashion sense was evolving.

“As I get older and a little bit more comfortable in myself, I’m like: ‘Yeah, I will wear that really pretty, feminine outfit’, and I’ll feel strong in that as well,” she added. “But I do love a perfect pair of pants, the perfect collared shirt, and I wear sneakers, heavy shoes.”
