Back of the Bus Show Hits the Streets of East Lancashire

New Zealand-based Java Dance Company heads to East Lancashire with a show that wowed audiences at the Edinburgh Festival. Their physical comedy show Back of the Bus takes place on an hour-long circular ride around the town.

Dancers will be hanging from the straps, and literally dancing in the aisles while the “audience” of bus passengers sit in the normal bus seats.

Sacha Copland, artistic director of Java Dance Company and choreographer of the show, said: “It’s really exciting to be touring Back of the Bus to the UK.

“It’s a long way from New Zealand but very connected to us. We share the same sense of humour but there are a few differences too.”

Java Dance Company was founded by Copland and graduates of the New Zealand School of Dance in 2003.
