Zoë Bell Honoured at Artemis Women In Action Film Festival

Auckland-born actress and stuntwoman Zoë Bell has been honoured as Stunt Icon at the Artemis Women In Action Film Festival in Beverly Hills, California.

She received the award as a woman whose “name has become synonymous with stunt excellence.”

Described as “a gifted athlete and martial artist”, Bell is known for her “toughness and daring as a stuntwoman.”

She has endured cracked ribs, torn ligaments and broken vertebrae when doubling for the lead actresses in Xena and the movie Kill Bill Vol. 1.

In recent years she starred as lead actress herself, while still doing brilliant stunt work.

Zoë Bell was born on Waiheke Island, Auckland in New Zealand. She became legendary for the stunts in Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof when she was clinging to the hood of a speeding car.
