Tourism New Zealand Recognised at Luxperience

Tourism New Zealand “won the prestigious ‘Destination Award’, which is awarded to the destination that best incorporates luxury travel as a key contributor to attracting visitors, and an award for their display area at the recent Luxperience trade event in Sydney.

“Winning the Destination award again is confirmation that our work to attract more high value visitors to New Zealand is working and that it is an important part of Tourism New Zealand’s overall strategy to showcase New Zealand to the world,” said Lisa Gardiner, Premium and Business Events Manager.

“Adding to the drama of our display was a New Zealand scenery themed bodypainted work. The impressive piece was created by Sofia Bue, an award winning artist for Weta Workshop and it really helped give us the wow factor.”

“Tourism New Zealand once again did an outstanding job at showcasing the range of luxury offerings New Zealand has to offer. The display was really creative and reflected the unique and varied luxury experience we can offer the world,” said Murray McCaw of luxury lodge, Bay of Many Coves.

Luxury travel to New Zealand is growing and attracting high value visitors to the country is a key part of Tourism New Zealand’s strategy according to Gardiner.
