Giovanni Intra Remembered

We are diminished to report the death of Giovanni Intra in New York City on December 17th 2002. Giovanni, artist, critic, gallerist  went east to stir up the LA art scene and established the gallery,  China Art Objects, and its location, Chinatown, as a fresh new locus that, “changed the landscape” of the West Coast art world and was internationally regarded as one of the most influential new galleries. Giovanni was remembered in Art Forum, LA Times, New York Times, Las Vegas Sun, and The Independent. A tribute exhibition for Giovanni will be held at The Hamish McKay Gallery in Wellington from January 18th – February 1st.
