Win on Strings at Windsor

A violinist from New Zealand, Benjamin Baker, 23, has won the Windsor Festival International Strings Competition (WFISC), held in the Waterloo Chamber of Windsor Castle, beating off finalists Marisol Lee from South Korea and Yuka Ishizuka from Japan. Baker said: “This is the big one that I have been working towards for some time and to have won this prestigious competition is unbelievably exciting, and it’s only just sinking in.” London-based Baker received £5000, a violin bow worth £5000, two recitals and a solo recording opportunity.
