Sonny Bill Eyes Up World Cup

Sonny Bill Williams, New Zealand’s most versatile sportsman, may be available for New Zealand for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup says Brad Walker, in The Age. Williams plays for the Sydney Rooster rugby league team. He is already a 2011 Rugby World Cup Champion with the New Zealand All Blacks, and a successful heavyweight boxer. Williams told Walker that he wanted to catch up with Steve Kearney, the New Zealand League coach, to talk about playing for The Kiwis, the New Zealand rugby league side. Williams is keen to play. ‘To win a gold medal sounds pretty good. As a sportsman, if you don’t have those sorts of dreams then you may as well just stay in bed’, he told Walker. Williams also plans a return to New Zealand rugby. He is eying up representing New Zealand in the sevens at the 2014 Rio Olympics, and defending the All Blacks champion’s title at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
