New Zealanders Win at Good Design Awards Australia

Wellington-based design agency Chrometoaster have won the won the Good Design of the Year Award at the Good Design Awards Australia in Sydney with Game of Awesome.

Game of Awesome is “an unconventional educational card game co-designed with students to improve literacy.”

“What an honour! We’re humbled that the judging panel selected Game of Awesome to represent the very best of design from across Australia, and the globe,” said Aaron McKirdy, Design Director at Chrometoaster.

“The calibre of the competition this year was incredibly high and it’s mind-blowing that an educational card game — designed with the help of Kiwi kids — continues to excel at this level. We’re pleased that the co-design approach, in particular, stood it apart as an example of next-level public good design.”

“Chrometoaster’s Game of Awesome also won the Best in Category for Print and the Best Overall in Communication Design.”

Massey University won the Best Overall in Social Innovation for the Design + Democracy Project – VoteLocal: Helping Kiwis Take Part in the Future of Their Cities. Warren & Mahoney Architects won the Best in Category for Interior Design in Architectural Design for TVNZ Television Network Centre Refurbishment and Milk Studio took out Best in Category for Packaging in Communication Design for Only Good.
