New Zealand Voted Best Destination for Solo Travelers

New Zealand has been ranked the best destination for solo travellers on a list created by Travel and Leisure. Safety and the ability to connect to people and culture while travelling are important factors in solo travel, which is why the ranking was based on numbers from the Global Peace Index and the Happy Planet Index.

“In New Zealand, the lush setting of the Lord of the Rings films, travellers can look forward to adventures on glaciers, in rainforests, and on the peaks of the Southern Alps, not to mention bungee jumping, jet boating, and hiking on the legendary Milford Track,” according to the description in Travel and Leisure.

While doing so travellers will be “meeting some of the friendliest and most open-minded people in the world—a major plus for those going solo”.
