New Bridal Collection Celebrates Less Is More

Couture and bridal wear New Zealand designer Johanna Johnson – whose Vaudeville gown Chanel model Kendall Jenner wore as bridesmaid to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s May wedding – has launched a new affordable “Black Label” collection.

The line features full-length silk gowns, as well as delicate separates such as silk camisoles and knee length tulle skirts, Vogue Australia reports.

Sydney-based Johnson’s eponymous label is well known for its alternative bridal wear which allows a client to mix and match exquisitely hand-made separates to suit their own style.

“[The] Johanna Johnson Black Label has been created to cater for all of our brand followers, of all age groups and budgets, without restriction to quality or our exclusive brand DNA,” Johnson said.

Johnson describes the collection as simplified elegance.

“The Johanna Johnson Black Label bride is a lover of fashion, quality, old Hollywood glamour, and the art of ‘less is more’,” she said.

Actress Andie MacDowell wore a red Johnson satin gown to the 2014 Gracie Awards.
