Musical portraiture

Photographic portraits of New Zealand musicians Bic Runga, Dave Dobbyn and Neil Finn are included in a new international coffee table book, called Music, shot by renowned New York photographer Andrew Zuckerman. Zuckerman flew out to New Zealand and Australia to shoot sessions with local artists, who feature alongside big name internationals including Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Eve, Chrissie Hynde and Lenny Kravitz. As well as displaying raw and emotive portraits, Zuckerman includes individual stories in the artists’ own words about their lives and careers. “Looking at the topography of someone’s face, so much information is in there,” Zuckerman says. “You can glean so much from their essential character.”
