New Zealander Bevan Docherty, 33, has won the 11th annual Los Angeles Triathlon finishing in 1 hour, 5 minutes and 21 seconds, which was 13 seconds ahead of runner-up Javier Gomez of Spain. A field of about 3 athletes from 3 US states and 11 countries competed in the race, which began with a 15m swim off Venice Beach, followed by a 38.4km bicycle ride, and then a 1km run through downtown Los Angeles.
