Doctor Turned Astronaut

New Zealand actor Martin Henderson, 38, has been cast as the lead in a new NBC soap thriller from executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer, The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives. “Henderson will play Kyle Dunn, a former flight surgeon and astronaut who returns from a long absence to finds something is different about the life he left behind. Best known for his film roles in The Ring and Torque, Henderson’s recent regular TV gig in the U.S. has been on ABC’s Off The Map.” Originally from Auckland, Henderson’s career began at 17 when he starred as Stuart Neilson in the soap opera Shortland Street.
