Brazil on the Cards

Ricki Herbert has signed a new two-year contract as coach of the All Whites. Herbert, 49, took New Zealand to the World Cup championship for the first time since 1982 guiding the squad through an unbeaten campaign. The All Whites were the only team not to lose in South Africa, drawing against Slovakia, Italy and Paraguay. “The intention is for both parties to assess the requirements of the role at the end of the initial term, with a view towards extension through to the 214 World Cup in Brazil,” New Zealand Football said. New Zealand, which is 54th in FIFA’s world rankings, hosts Honduras on October 9.
