TO NEW ZEALAND EDGE GLOBAL COMMUNITY
Welcome to 2003 from
the edge. As unsettling winds blow globally, the Aotearoa advantage and
geography has never been so prescient. Today we bring you:
TOP 60 INTERNATIONAL
NEW ZEALAND NEWSMAKERS
In association with the Sunday Star Times newspaper NZEDGE published over
New Year a selection of international NZ newsmakers for 2002 representing
the diversity, colour and flavour of edge achievment, from the well-known:
Peter Jackson and LotR team, to the surprising: the edge behind the Apple
iMac, Shrek, Parkinson's cure hopes and MTV. The Hot 60 is reproduced in a
longer, unedited version on the NZEDGE website. Written by Paul Ward and
Julie Hill.

AIR NEW ZEALAND
ARRANGEMENTS
Here's a site to get you thinking:
http://www.debateairnz.org.nz;
convened by a broad number of Nzers, the site dissects the proposed sale
of a part of Air New Zealand to Qantas of Australia and advocates a set of
actions to ensure open and competitive access to and around these fair
isles. Provocative and timely.
WAITANGI DAY CONCERT
LONDON
Warm up the London winter with a piece of aural Aotearoa. Dave Dobbyn and
Anika Moa are set to rock London for the 2003 Waitangi Day Concert,
Thursday 6th February 2003 at the Brixton Academy. Kiwi music icon and
anthem maker (Whaling, Loyal, Slice of Heaven) Dave Dobbyn will perform a
2 hour set with 22 year old Moa. It is the debut UK performance for
singer-songwriter Moa on the back her LP Thinking Room (recorded in New
York at Atlantic Records with Victor Van Vugt - PJ Harvey, Beth Orton,
Nick Cave). The inaugural Waitangi Day Concert 2002 was a fantastic
success with the 4000 tickets selling out in a matter of days, so book now
for some sweet South Seas sounds amongst the drizzle and warm ale. To book
call Ticketweb on 0870 771 2000 or book online www.ticketweb.co.uk.
Look out for us in
February. Be sharpening your edge.
